Not Your Grandmother’s Log Cabin – Part 1
February 19 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm$48.00
Most quilters have tried at one time or another the traditional Log Cabin pattern. This project with the same simple process of starting in the middle of the block, this is referred to as the chimney and add concentric strips to the center until you reach the size of the block you want your block to be.
If you change to a 60 degree design log cabin, you can make both diamond and triangle blocks. And you can vary the strips within the blocks. Rather than sewing each strip on and then trimming it to the correct size and angle, it turns out to be quicker and more enjoyable to cut the strips to the correct size and shape, and then sew them onto the block.
